Description: The Yale Center for Environmental Justice (YCEJ) at the Yale School of the Environment (YSE) is seeking an inaugural Executive Director to lead the Center. The Executive Director will develop a strategic direction and organizational development in alignment with YCEJ’s commitment to strengthening institutional capacity to build power with frontline communities leading change. The successful candidate will have a network capable of catalyzing partnerships and shape Yale’s expanding interdisciplinary research, teaching, and practice in environmental justice. The Executive Director position also includes a strong teaching component. The Executive Director will grow and steward the Center’s budget, hire personnel, and put YCEJ’s vision for a collaborative and inclusive Center into practice. As the Center’s leader, the successful candidate will develop and sustain YCEJ’s programs at the highest level of excellence. This includes supervising the Clean and Equitable Energy Program (CEED) in partnership with the Yale Center for Business and the Environment (CBEY).
