Postdoctoral Research Fellow in environmentally sustainable best practices for human brain imaging!

Organization: University of Sussex
Location: Sussex, UK
Duration: fixed term for 12 months in the first instance but potentially extendable
Pay/Volunteer: starting at £35,333 to £42,155 per annum, pro rata if part time
Deadline: 26 October 2022
Description: Applications are invited for a postdoctoral Research Fellow to conduct research on environmentally sustainable best practices for human brain imaging and data pipelines (MRI and related brain scanning techniques). The successful candidate will be part of Charlotte Rae’s Adaptive Behavioural Control Lab at the University of Sussex. The post-holder will also work closely with Raghavendra Selvan (University of Copenhagen) and Gabrielle Samuel (King’s College London). The MRC-funded project aims to assess the ways in which human brain imaging analysis (in particular, MRI scans) generates a carbon footprint, and to develop strategies and tools to minimise this. Candidates with experience in MRI brain scan analysis techniques and software (e.g. FSL, SPM), big neuroimaging datasets (e.g. Human Connectome Project, UK Biobank), and scientific computing, are particularly encouraged to apply.
