Scientists are responsible for creating the newest tech, inventing novel green materials and creating the next vaccines. However, modern labs consume up to 10x more energy than an office and discards 12 billion pounds of plastic waste per year. Sustainable innovation starts in our labs, and, as scientists, it is our moral obligation to actively reduce our climate impact. In honor of Earth Week, 500 Women Scientists Remote Pod is delighted to host Dr. Fanny Yuen from Green Your Lab. Green Your Lab is a free knowledgebase and network built to help scientists and engineers interested in sustainable science to Go Green in their labs.Fanny will provide an overview of what the Green Lab movement is, why it’s important and how we can be a part of that change. She will also provide some practical tips that scientists can use immediately in the lab and at home in their everyday lives.
