ENLIGHT symposium on Green Labs and sustainable research practices

On 8 and 9 April, the UG Green Office and Green Labs FSE are organizing the ENLIGHT symposium on Green Labs and sustainable research practices.

Together with 9 other partner universities around Europe we started the ENLIGHT Green Labs network about 1 year ago. Now it’s time to share knowledge and best practices!

We are happy to announce not one, but two keynote speakers:
:green_circle: Martin Farley, Associate Director of Environmental Sustainability at UKRI and founder of LEAF, now leading the new lab accreditation programme SPARKhub.
:green_circle: Florijn Dekkers, cofounder of Green Labs NL, Assistant Professor Planetary Health (UMC Utrecht) and Scientific Coordinator Circular Hospitals (Institute for a Circular Society).

Next to this we have speakers from the ENLIGHT network (Marco Lange and Victor Theet), the University of Groningen (Thomas Freese, Alexandra Matei, Brian Setz and Brian A. Wagner) and the UMCG (Annemarie Leliveld-Kors and Renate Kat).

:information_source: The first day consists of a closed morning program for ENLIGHT members and guests, with two rounds of breakout sessions. The afternoon programme is open to all interested parties and will be officially opened by rector magnificus Jacquelien Scherpen. In the evening, there will be a dinner for ENLIGHT guests and symposium speakers.

On the second day, a plenary session will take place to discuss the previous day, followed by tours of various University of Groningen laboratories.
