Description: We are looking for a person to work under the leadership of the SEI Latin America water program lead, who is committed to supporting research work carried out in pursuit of a more sustainable future for human communities and natural ecosystems. You will contribute to the management and implementation of research, capacity development and policy-setting projects related to water management and river basin planning carried out within SEI Latin America.
Your main responsibilities will include the following.
Under the supervision of the water program lead within SEI Latin America, implement projects focused on developing, using, and transferring planning tools and participatory process to promote holistic, transparent and robust decision-making related to water resources management.
Propose and develop innovative approaches for sustainable water resources management, publishing these innovations in the scientific literature when appropriate.
Develop activities for stakeholder’s engagement, capacity building and decision support with public and private institutions in the water and environment sectors.
Plan and perform work (in the office, in the field, and with public and private institutions in different areas) to collect necessary information for the implementation of projects.
Prepare material to disseminate results and support knowledge transfer and capacity building, including reports, scientific publications, guides and manuals and presentations, among others.
Supervise the work of junior staff and external consultants related to the project activities under your responsibility.
Support the development of new proposals of interest to the SEI Latin America water program.
