Green chemistry, the intentional design of safer, less hazardous chemical products and processes, offers tremendous opportunity to inspire today’s youth to solve global challenges through chemistry and to prepare students with 21st century skills. The implementation of green chemistry throughout educational systems is essential to support a growing global greener chemicals market and to solve global challenges such as climate change, or to address the mounting problem of ocean plastics. Through innovation in the laboratory and with changes in chemical education, students can be prepared to solve these 21st century challenges.
